Exploring the TrackMan Performance Center at GolfCave
Even if you have used TrackMan a few times in the course of your golfing life, you probably have only a modest idea of what it is capable of doing. This is a tremendously powerful technology that has been developed over the years to be incredibly in-depth and comprehensive. It’s no surprise that TrackMan has risen to such a prominent position in the golf world.
In this post, we’d like to explore the TrackMan Performance Center feature that is available in Version 9.4. Once you see what is possible in this part of the TrackMan interface, you’ll certainly want to check it out for yourself on your next visit. Getting Started
You don’t need to be a TrackMan expert to get started with this feature. Once you load up the main TrackMan screen, and log in to your profile so you can save all of your data, just select Practice and then Performance Center. There, you’ll be able to make any changes that you want to the default settings, such as altering the firmness of the turf or the green speeds.
Once into the Practice Center and ready to hit some shots, you can dial in exactly what situations you want to face. For instance, if you’d like to work specifically on your wedge shots, you can set the yardage range to between 50-100 yards, or whatever the range of wedge distances is in your bag. Then, with the TrackMan Practice Center settings on Random mode, the shots that you are presented with will vary but will remain within your preferred range.
Other Practice Options
In addition to hitting shots to a number of different distances throughout your session, you can also choose from other modes based on the things you want to work on in your game. For example, there are some different green layouts with a variety of pin positions that you can load up and hit to as part of your practice routine. Maybe you tend to struggle with pins that are cut near the front of a green over a bunker – you can choose that exact scenario and work on improving your performance.
Once you have hit a bunch of shots in the TrackMan Performance Center, you can look at the Strokes Gained feature to see how many strokes you are gaining or losing based on the quality of your swings and where the ball ends up. This is a great way to get some objective analysis into which parts of your game are the strongest and which may need additional work.
